Manchester Literature Festival 2008Festival Brochure 2008
16th – 26th October

Writers will be travelling to Manchester from as far afield as North Africa, the Middle East, Europe and the United States to take part in our third festival, organised in association with CityLife.co.uk. We'll also be showcasing plenty of local talent at our Festival Hub. With events ranging from Past Crimes to A Place for Romance and literature in translation to children’s fiction, the programme caters for all literary tastes. And, as part of our Big Science Read Weekend, we will be hosting a series of readings, debates and workshops exploring the interplay between literature and science.

To launch the festival, we've got two very special preview events on October 9th: Lucky Voice poetry karaoke and an audience with best-selling American author, Anita Shreve.

The festival line-up includes: Patience Agbabi, Stephen Baxter, Ciaran Carson, Jim Cartwright, Mavis Cheek, Ramón Chao, Russell T Davies, Bernadine Evaristo, Laura Fish, Corsino Fortes, Jorie Graham, Adrian Mitchell, Jenni Murray, Sean O’Brien, Anne Perry, Posy Simmonds, Xinran plus many more!

For full details check out the listings in our Festival Programme or download our Festival Brochure.
