Since the publication of his first poetry collection Zoom in 1989, Simon Armitage has been acclaimed as one of Britain’s best writers. During his eclectic writing career he has produced award-winning novels (Little Green Man and The White Stuff), memoirs (All Points North and Gig) and numerous dramas for stage, radio and film. He has also published poetic translations of Homer's Odyssey and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. Tonight, he will be treating us to a selection of poetry from his rich back catalogue in the serene surroundings of St Ann’s Church.
