Northern Poetry Grand Slam Final

We need your help to spot the best performance poet in town as the winners of our monthly poetry heats compete for the crown of crowns in this ultimate slam-off. The event will be hosted by the effervescent comedian John Cooper and will feature a special guest appearance by previous festival slam champion, Andy Craven-Griffiths, who has performed on BBC television and radio, and has won various slams including Glastonbury and Munichslam. In his poetry collection, Family Matters, Andy explores what it means to be part of a family: how it moulds us, how we mould it, and how it can teach us everything from compromise, compassion and shame, to celebration, ambition, and love.

We’ll also be throwing a few wild cards into the mix, so if you fancy your chances and want to put your name into the hat, please email admin@manchesterliteraturefestival.co.uk

Please note, we are sad to report that Anisley Burrows has been injured in a traffic accident in New York - not too serious but he is unable to travel and therefore will not be appearing at the slam as previously advertised.
