Mike Barlow & Carys Davies

Prize-winning poet Mike Barlow and short story writer Carys Davies read from their latest collections Another Place and Some New Ambush, both published by Salt.

Mike Barlow won the 2006 National Poetry Competition, The 2005 Ledbury Poetry Competition and the 2002 Amnesty International Poetry Competition. His first collection, Living on the Difference (Smiths Doorstop) won the Poetry Business Book and Pamphlet Competition in 2003 and was shortlisted for the Jerwood Aldeburgh Prize for Best First Collection.

Carys Davies's short stories have won prizes in major national and international competitions and have been published in anthologies and magazines in the UK and USA. Her debut collection Some New Ambush was longlisted for the 2008 Wales Book of the Year Prize. She lives in Lancaster with her husband and four children.
