The Poet Laureate, Andrew Motion read and talked about his work in the impressive surroundings of the John Rylands Library, whose literary archives contain Motion's early correspondence with Carcanet, which published his first collection, The Pleasure Steamers. In addition to his many Faber collections of poems which include: Love in a Life, The Price of Everything and Public Property, Motion is also distinguished as the biographer of Philip Larkin and John Keats. His own biography, In the Blood, was recently published by Penguin.
